Linear Technology announces the LT3464, a high efficiency, micropower boost converter with an integrated Schottky diode and output disconnect transistor. The LT3464 utilizes a current limited, constant off-time switching topology with an 85mA internal switch to deliver output voltages up to 34V. It can deliver up to 8mA at 16V from a 3.6V input, making it ideal for biasing applications in handheld devices. The LT3464 input voltage range of 2.3V to 10V makes it suitable for single- or dual-cell Li-Ion batteries as well as multi-cell Alkaline or NiMH chemistries. A low-profile ThinSOT?package and minimal externals make it well suited for space-constrained applications.

The LT3464 small package size, high level of integration and use of tiny surface mount components yields a solution size of less than 40mm? The internal Schottky diode reduces both size and assembly requirements while the internal PNP transistor disconnects the output load from the input during shutdown and provides output short-circuit protection.
